A long-established arts-and-crafts Christmas market of wooden stalls in Cardiff's pedestrianised shopping streets around St John's Church, focused on makers selling their own work.
Cardiff Christmas Market sets out around 70 wooden stalls along St John Street, Working Street, Trinity Street and Hills Street, the pedestrianised streets around St John's Church in the city centre. It is organised by Craft*folK, which has run the market for more than three decades.
The emphasis is on handmade work bought directly from the makers: stallholders must make their own products, and many trade for only part of the season, so over 200 different businesses rotate through the stalls. Seasonal food and mulled wine are mixed in among the craft stalls.
Entry is free, and the market is a few minutes' walk from Cardiff Castle, the Victorian and Edwardian arcades and the main shopping centres. Cardiff's free City Centre Mobility Service can carry disabled and elderly visitors around the pedestrianised streets.
