Parliament Street and St Sampson's Square, York, North Yorkshire · Yorkshire and the Humber

York's long-running city-centre Christmas market of alpine-style chalets on Parliament Street and St Sampson's Square, with most traders from Yorkshire.
York's Christmas market, long known locally as the St Nicholas Fair, fills Parliament Street and St Sampson's Square with alpine-style wooden chalets selling local crafts, artisan products, gifts and seasonal food and drink. The organiser says more than 80% of the traders come from Yorkshire, and sustainability and ethical products are a stated focus.
For 2026 the market is open six days a week and takes a rest day every Tuesday, when the rest of the city's shops and attractions stay open. A trader list and an online virtual market are published on the Visit York site before opening.
York Park & Ride is promoted as the easiest way into the city during the market, and Visit York publishes accessibility, toilet and safety information for visitors.
