A one-day Christmas fair with over 100 traders spread through the streets of the book town of Hay-on-Wye and the halls of Hay Castle.

On the second Saturday of December, Hay Markets fills the centre of Hay-on-Wye with its Christmas Fayre. More than 100 makers, bakers, growers, artists and traders set up around Memorial Square, the market halls and the Clock Tower, and inside the restored Hay Castle.

Expect handmade gifts, local food and drink, crafts and vintage finds, with street food, mulled wine and roasted chestnuts, carols from local choirs and a walkabout Father Christmas. It combines well with Hay's independent shops and many bookshops.

Earlier in the season, Hay Markets also runs a smaller Winter Weekend Market (about 30 traders around Memorial Square) during the Hay Festival Winter Weekend.
