St Albans' big one-day festive street event, with around 100 market stalls, live music, fairground rides and a free Santa's grotto across a traffic-free city centre.
The Christmas Cracker is St Albans' main festive market day, run by the district council with support from the city-centre BID. For one Sunday in November the city centre is closed to traffic and around 100 market pitches sell gifts, decorations, jewellery, hats, food and drink.
There's a stage on St Peter's Street with local bands and performers (including the Alban Arena panto cast), school choirs by the Christmas tree outside the Museum + Gallery, festive songs at the Clock Tower, street entertainment, craft activities, fairground rides and a free Santa's grotto.
It's free to attend. British Sign Language interpreters have been provided at the school choir area.
