The National Trust's annual weekend Christmas market of local craftspeople and food producers in the Stable Yard and theatre space at Castle Ward, near Strangford.

Castle Ward, the 18th-century National Trust mansion on the shores of Strangford Lough, holds an annual Christmas Artisan Market over a weekend in early December, starting with a late-night Friday opening when the estate is lit up with fairy lights. Local craftspeople and food producers set up in the estate's theatre space and the Stable Yard, selling handmade gifts and home décor alongside artisan food and seasonal treats, with music adding to the atmosphere.

The market sits within the property's wider Christmas programme. In 2025 that included Georgian Christmastide, when the mansion was decorated for a Georgian-style festive feast on selected weekends, plus a Christmas-themed tea-room and gift shop.

The National Trust doesn't say whether you need an estate admission ticket to visit the market, so check before you go if you're not a member.
