Courtyards and grounds of Burghley House, Stamford, Lincolnshire · East Midlands

A four-day ticketed Christmas fair of around 200 stalls in the courtyards and grounds of Burghley House near Stamford.
Every November the courtyards and grounds of Burghley House, just outside Stamford, fill with chalets, pagodas and marquees for the Burghley Christmas Fair. For 2026 the house says there will be around 200 stalls selling artisan gifts, stocking fillers, handmade decorations, clothing and homewares, plus food and drink such as mulled wine, hot chocolate, raclette and crêpes.
A lit-up Victorian carousel and a helter skelter add to the fairground feel, and on the Friday and Saturday the fair stays open into the evening, with the house illuminated and festive drone shows overhead. Afternoon tea can be booked in the Great Hall (fair ticket needed). The fair is run with the Angel Committee to raise money for Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice in Peterborough.
Tickets must be bought in advance with an arrival time slot - none are sold on the gate. Parking is free (mostly on grass, and up to 500m from the entrance), with bookable priority parking nearer the entrance. Buggies are allowed but best left at home as it gets busy, and dogs are not advised (assistance dogs only in indoor areas).
