Lodge Hill, between the Stables and the house entrance, Chatsworth, Bakewell, Derbyshire · East Midlands

A five-week Christmas market of over 100 stalls in the grounds of Chatsworth House in the Peak District, alongside the house's own Christmas displays.
Chatsworth's Christmas market sets up on Lodge Hill, between the Stables and the entrance to the house, with over 100 stalls selling gifts, decorations and seasonal food and drink, plus live music. Outdoor bars serve mulled wine and German beer, and food stalls offer things like burgers, sausages, hot pork rolls, pancakes and churros. The Stables shop and Cavendish restaurant are open too.
Walking round the market is free, but if you drive you must pre-book a car park ticket online - only cars with a valid booking are let in. When the main car park fills, cars are parked on trackways across the park and a tractor-and-trailer shuttle (wheelchair and pushchair accessible) runs to the market. There's also a park and ride from Calton Lees, and several local bus routes stop at Chatsworth.
The ground can be muddy and slippery, so sturdy shoes are a good idea, and a torch helps later in the day. Entry to the market is also included with Christmas at Chatsworth house-and-garden tickets during the market dates.
