A city-centre Christmas market along Gallowtree Gate, part of a wider Christmas in Leicester programme that includes a real ice rink, a funfair and a big wheel.
Leicester's Christmas market first appeared in 2024 and returned in 2025 in an expanded form, lining Gallowtree Gate near the Clock Tower with stalls selling seasonal gifts and food (Yorkshire pudding wraps included). A separate Christmas fayre runs in Highcross Leicester's St Peter's Square.
The market is part of the council's wider Christmas in Leicester season: a 44ft tree at the Clock Tower, a festive fairground on Humberstone Gate, a real ice rink on Jubilee Square (paid sessions), a big wheel, street entertainers and BID Leicester's 'Festive Jams' live music on weekend evenings, with late-night shopping on Wednesdays.
